“Elementary my dear Watson”

 On December 1st, 1887,  Sherlock Holmes appears for the very first time in print in the detective mystery novel “A Study in Scarlet“, written by British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The fictional character Holmes went on to appear in 3 more novels and 56 more Conan Doyle written stories.
